It's great to have something so original on. You know, I think this is what Bonekickers should've been.

Nice to have you back, Jez. Hope you had a good festival.

Lisahttps://lisadyerauthor.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/03987078839914518196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8690524959564942156.post-11318435948912692992008-10-27T12:39:00.000+00:002008-10-27T12:39:00.000+00:00yes good point. So like you say, it was ill conceived and stuck out like a sore thumb.Yehudah Jez Freedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01620570721319183069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8690524959564942156.post-69766749825809883142008-10-27T08:48:00.000+00:002008-10-27T08:48:00.000+00:00What bugged me about Sunshine was why on earth did...What bugged me about Sunshine was why on earth did the people who scammed Bing go to so much trouble (there were at least four main players - Bulldog, the club owner, the Irishman and the doorman; plus presumably everyone else in the club knew about the delayed TV signal, so would need to be paid off; plus the cost of the venue, plus the TV equipment to delay the signal by a few minutes, plus all the time they presumably spent rehearsing all this to get it perfectly synchronised) re-enacting The Sting for a measly £900? I reckon the main players made less than £100 each.

In The Sting (or Hustle, who did their own homage) the whole idea was to do one massive sting, then disappear, not to take a few quid and stay in exactly the same place for possible repurcussions by repeating the scam.

Like a lot of things in Sunshine it didn't belong. (Like that bloody voiceover - there was a lovely scene of Bing and his dad on the bus, both subtly lying to each other about losing their job/bad news from the doctor. It was really neatly done, then the voiceover goes "MY DAD AND GRANDAD WERE BOTH LYING TO EACH OTHER!")

But I did enjoy most of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
